Selection Criteria and weighting 

During the selection process, the selection committee will consider the applications from all eligible candidates, who otherwise - without scholarship - could not pursue their studies in Europe. Following criteria and weighting factors - like fair distribution among partner members, gender balance, equal opportunities, etc. will be taken into account for the selection of candidates:

Prerequisite: Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies. They have to be citizens of one of the three South Caucasian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) and Ukraine. Candidates must have not spent more than 12 months in the last 5 years in EU. For European students, they have to be citizens of one of the 27 EU states and be registered in one of the EU partner universities.


Master students:

The ALRAKIS II application is only for the ALRAKIS II grant. It does not guarantee a study right for degree studies at partner institutions.

Prerequisite: Master students must have obtained a Bachelor diploma in their home country. They have to be citizens of one of the three South Caucasian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) and Ukraine. Candidates must have not spent more than 12 months in the last 5 years in EU.

 

Doctorates and Post-docs:

 * Doctorate and Post-doc candidates should have established communication with their respective potential supervisors at the hosting partner. In several host institutions the acceptance of a supervisor is the main condition for eligibility of the doctoral and post-doctoral candidates. 

Prerequisite: Doctoral and PhD students have to be citizens of one of the three South Caucasian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) and  Ukraine, and have not spent more than 12 months in the last 5 years in the EU. For European doctoral students, they have to be citizens of one of the 27 EU states and be registered in one of the EU partner universities.

* Both academic and administrative staff should have contacted their respective counterpart at the host university and thus accordingly made their teaching/work plan.   

Prerequisite: Candidates must have not spent more than 12 months in the last 5 years in EU and must have not benefitted from a previous academic Erasmus Mundus staff grant before. 

Overall speaking, the selection criteria established within the ALRAKIS II project include: 


a. Quality of the application (clearly defined goals and expected outcomes, expected impact,  methodology, fitness for the project’s objectives, schedule, …),

b. Motivation (motivation letter has to be written in English),

c. In case of Doctoral student, Post-doc and Staff  invitation letter from the Host university will be given a preference,

d. Qualifications (academic, competences,  …),

e. Language skills,

f. Impact and relevance for the country (specially in research activities, Doctoral student and post-doc mobilities) of home University.

g. Sustainability (specially in the case of academic / administrative staff mobilities).
